Is Vermont's way the US way to affordable health insurance?

The State of Vermont has had health insurance regulation for quite some time now.

Statistics show this has worked to some degree but as Vermont is a very small state this may not be our answer on a National level.

A few things to consider:

Currently there are no laws that have been passed only pending bills in the House and Senate.

All of these bills do NOT take effect if ever until 2013......almost 4 years form now.

Uninsured? Is it 47 million or 30 million?

We have been told repeatedly that the 47 million number of uninsured does NOT include illegal aliens or people incarcerated currently.

Why has the number now changed to only 30 million?

How many people are voluntarily uninsured? meaning they can buy afford to buy coverage but don't.

What do the Japanese do for health insurance?

Well they have some pretty good ideas and it's not run by their government either.

Will their system which was invented after ours work better for us?

We did invent the automobile and they seem to have a much better system than ours. I don't recall Toyota or Honda filing for bankruptcy.

Over the past year the National Association of Independent Business (NFIB) has been working with both sides of the fence to try and come up with a health insurance solution for small business.

NFIB has now said NO to House health care legislation noting it's a bad idea for small business.

For nearly 8 months now all we have heard was the absolute need for a public option.

And I quote "The plan will NOT work with a public option"

Why the about face?
Too much heat from the town halls?
Too big of a problem for the government to fix themselves?
A Political disaster for Obama?
The cost was way underestimated?
Maybe it's juts not as easy as they once thought.

I thought we had something called free speech in this country?

Apparently baited infomercials and PRO health care reform town halls meeting are ok as long as we listen to what the government has to say......and go along.

Speak against affordable health insurance reform and you will be labeled UN-American and a radical for not going along with the current administrations plans to take over health care as we know it today.

Will Congress be covered under their own health insurance plan?

Many people are finally getting around to reading the new bill on National health care. Making health insurance affordable is one thing but what it will cover is another.

One other question that has been left unanswered is whether or not members of the US Congress will be covered under this plan or their rich plan they current have access to? That answer is most certainly NO, only us tax payers will be under that plan.

The government wants to start running health care for the country which is a much bigger issue than delivering a piece of mail.

Maybe they could fix the Post office first and then move on to health care.

We have all complained about our health insurance coverage one time or another.

Costs too much.
Not enough coverage.
Deductible is too high.

Many are now starting to look at what the government is proposing and are wondering: Will this really equate to affordable health insurance for all?

According to recent polls over 2/3 rank their current health insurance as good or excellent. Over 74% say the way their health care is delivered now is adequate.

Will the government be able to keep these numbers this high when they try to "help" us all?

Many think that will be very difficult and nearly impossible.

The State of Massachusetts is usually the one in the news when we speak of a state run health care plan and whether or not universal care works.

However Hawaii was the first state to adopt such a plan and it has failed miserably as well.

The national health care plan has received much criticism from the Republican party but now we are hearing from the Blue Dog democrats as well.

So much so they are one of the main reasons the health care bill is now stalled until.......????
