A study found that many people who don't sleep enough may have a similar effect on their bodies that large amounts of stress can have.
When people are put in a stressful situation, they can have a significant drop in white blood cells, the study, commissioned by multiple Dutch and British hospitals, explained. This increased the chances of a weakened immune system and makes people more likely to develop major illnesses. "Future research will reveal the molecular mechanisms behind this immediate stress response and elucidate its role in the development of diseases associated with chronic sleep loss," said Dr. Katrin Ackermann, the study's lead author. Those who have significant sleep issues may benefit from speaking with their doctor about the condition. However, an insufficient healthcare plan can hurt their chances of doing it affordably. Looking online for health insurance quotes may make this process easier, and could get a person the coverage they need. |
