A recent study from the University of Nebraska Medical Center showed that the number of residents of the state don't have healthcare policies.
The total number of those Nebraskans without a health insurance policy rose to nearly 15 percent in 2010, which was significantly higher than the close to 9 percent recorded in 2000, the study found. Also, the number of uninsured citizens in the state jumped by more than 67 percent during that time. In 2010, 217,100 people younger than 65 years of age lacked proper insurance. "This might seem somewhat alarming," said Dr. Jim Stimpson, associate professor in the Center for Health Policy in the UNMC College of Public Health. "However, the uninsured numbers in Nebraska are in line with what is happening in other Midwest states." Those living in the Midwest who are without a proper healthcare plan, but want to rectify their situation, may benefit from looking for policies with affordable health insurance rates online. There are multiple health insurance quotes available that could be what a person needs to be sure they are covered. Trackbacks
