A recent survey completed jointly from Aon Hewitt, the National Business Group on Health and The Futures Company showed that many consumers are interested in more of a commitment from their employers when it comes to health insurance.
Nearly 75 percent of employees noted they have a legitimate concern about being able to afford healthcare, the survey reported. Many noted their interest in having wellness programs available to them, but despite many consumers wanting options, one-third noted they didn't participate in such programs. This may have something to do with a lack of knowledge that their employers offer a wellness option. "Employers continue to face countless challenges when it comes to offering health plans that effectively meet the needs of workers and their families, while also managing rising costs," said Helen Darling, president and chief executive officer of the National Business Group on Health. "In order to help with their challenges and reduce costs, they want health programs that speak to their individual and families' health care needs." Consumers who don't receive the best health insurance options from their employer may want to look for affordable health insurance quotes, as these could give them a more well-rounded option.
