We have all seen the numbers..........47 million uninsured Americans........it's a crisis.....a crisis........
Are we to believe that all 47 million uninsured Americans cannot afford to buy a policy or qualify for one? Recent reports have indicated that no this isn't the case and many could afford to buy a policy but choose to be "voluntarily uninsured". I would like to see a stat as to how many people that don't purchase health insurance have done any of the following recently: Purchased a new car instead of health insurance Smoke cigarettes instead of buying health insurance Drink alcohol instead of buying health insurance Take a vacation instead of buying health insurance This list could go on forever.......... I guess it's easier those to go without and expect to buy some only when you need it and complain that you can't get it then because you were too irresponsible to buy some before you got sick. Or maybe it's easier to just leave it up to the government to provide for us by the means they know best....write checks, print more money, and over tax us later when it blows up.
