Former president of CVS/Caremark Pharmacy Services, Howard McClure is moving into his new role as CEO of change:healthcare. He will replace the organization's founder Christopher Parks, who will be transitioning to chief development officer, according to company officials.
Parks stated that McClure's work at CVS/Caremark was evidence of his capability to uphold the mission of change:healthcare - to help the average consumer make informed decisions that will drive down individual healthcare costs. "We are very excited to have Howard on board," Said Parks. "His tenure and success at CVS/Caremark, as well as a shared mission to offer consumers true healthcare cost transparency, made him a perfect fit for our team." The company released its Healthcare Transparency Index last fall in an effort to help small companies and individuals choose facilities and practitioners that offer low-cost, quality healthcare. McClure recently told The Wall Street Journal that he feels such financial transparency is essential to keeping health insurance affordable. "I see this as an exciting way to help people understand the cost of healthcare and make good purchasing decisions," he said. Trackbacks
